MY NEW LIFE

Things have changed for me just a bit in the past few weeks.  I used to be “Sister Smoot”, a Mormon Missionary (that was when I was asked to start this blog),  now I am just Stephanie Smoot, still a Mormon, just not with the tag.  I was debating on whether to re-do my whole “about me” page, but nothing has changed.  I still feel the same way about this gospel.  Although I am back to my normal regular life (yes that means I can watch movies, wear pants, go snowboarding:), I still have a great desire to share the gospel with everyone.  Since I am no longer a missionary this blog will probably change.  It will be geared towards my life as a returned missionary and the lessons I learn, the people I meet, the hard times, the good times, and the “faith promoting experiences” I have.  This is meant to be an interactive blog, so feel free to comment, ask questions or whatever.  I actually do want to hear what you have to say.

MY OLD LIFE

So the first thing that you should know about me is that I am a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and that it has been the highlight of my life.  I’m not gonna lie it has not been easy (being a missionary) by any means, but totally and completely worth it.

So as a missionary I have given up a year and half of my normal, regular college life to come to New York, and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.  I left  my family, my home in California, good weather, friends, snowboarding, and a lot of other stuff to be here.  WHY, because I have the truth that will change lives.  The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, and the way to salvation has never been clearer.  He brought forth the Book of Mormon, which contains the fullness of the everlasting gospel.  The truth about God and the way back to Him has all been revealed, and I know it to be true.  The knowledge that I have a Heavenly Father who loves and knows me has changed my life.  Not only does He know me, but He knows all of His children.  He knows you and loves you.  So pretty much that is what I am all about.

I’ve created this blog to teach and share my mission experiences. I would love to hear your comments and experiences as well.  I want this blog to be discussion oriented so feel free to ask questions about the church, me, missionaries, or whatever it may be.
